FERRY TRAVEL - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!

It is YOUR responsibility to book your own return ferry to/from Rathlin Island for the Rathlin Lighthouse Challenge - when the 2027 Summer Schedule is available (this will be in March / April 2027). Rathlin Run cannot and will not be held responsible for travel arrangements of participants. The Rathlin Ferry website at www.rathlin-ferry.com

I understand it is my responsibility to book my ferry travel to / from Rathlin Island as soon as the Summer Schedule for 2027 is released. I understand that it is my responsibility to get to the island ahead of the race start time at 11:15am. The Rathlin Ferry places can sell out within 2-3 hours after the schedule is open for booking, so it is ESSENTIAL you are online and booking your ferry crossings as soon as they are available. We will inform you via EMAIL when the schedule is due to open. If you miss this email and do not get booked on the official ferry, it will be YOUR responsibility to arrange your own travel via private ferry operators. Respectfully, please do NOT enter the event if you do not accept FULL responsibility in relation to your ferry travel. *

Please read and understand these ESSENTIAL terms and conditions prior to finalising your entry.

STAY UP TO DATE WITH IMPORTANT INFO:

I agree to regularly check my emails (daily from 1/3/27 onwards) for updates on the race, including:

- Notification emails about the RATHLIN FERRY SUMMER SCHEDULE opening, and;

- FINAL RACE DAY INSTRUCTIONS.

I accept that if these emails are sent out and I fail to act upon the information immediately, it is my responsibility.

FITNESS TO COMPETE ON RACE DAY:

I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure that I am fit and healthy enough to compete at this 16 mile event and if the case should arise that I am not fit to compete come race day, I will not participate in the event.

REFUND / DEFERRAL:  
I understand that after accepting these terms and conditions that should I not be able to run, my entry fee will be forfeited.

TRANSFERS:
Entry transfers will be allowed on the official 'My Registration' page ONLY (Â£10 charge).  These MUST be completed by Tuesday 1st June 2027 (5pm).  No transfers will be allowed after this date and any participant running under another athletes name will be disqualified.

CANCELLATION OF THE EVENT (OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL):

Given the unique nature of the Rathlin Run and the essential ferry crossings, it is important to note the following BEFORE entering the race.

Entry fees are also non-refundable if the race has to be cancelledÂ due to circumstances outside of our control; for instance,Â cancellation of ferries, or, due to a major incident, adverse/dangerous weather conditions or on Police/Emergency Services' advice. Â 

In the unlikely event that any of the above should occur, the Rathlin Run Team will do our upmost to provide an alternative value for money solution.  This is more than likely to be a VIRTUAL run.

Entries will NOT be deferred to 2028.

2.5-HOUR CUT OFF POINT:

I agree to abide by the rules / regulations around the 2.5 hour cut-off point at Church Bay.  

This states that, if a participant has not passed through Church Bay (the road directly behind McCuaig's Bar, en-route to the final lighthouse (Rue Point) after 2.5 hours, they will be withdrawn from the event.  The race starts at 11:15am, so the cut-off will be 1.45pm at Church Bay.

This is for safety and logistical reasons.  We would politely and respectfully request that if you disagree with this cut-off, you do not enter the event.

Belfast Activity Centre (BAC) have supported the RATHLIN RUN for many years. We would like to see the well-known charity continue to benefit from the event - therefore 100% of all donations below will go to BAC (after the event date).
